Tortilla Chips Europe's largest tortill chip making factory produces 730 tonnes of tortilla chips every week! Whilst this recipe only makes 500g, with the UK eating 7 bags of tortilla chips every second, it might be easier to make your own!

  1. Heat the oil in a large heavy-based saucepan over a medium-high heat to 180°C.
  2. Cut the tortillas into 8 rough triangles then, working in batches, add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil and fry them for 3 minutes, turning them over until crisp and lightly golden.
  3. Remove the tortillas using a slotted spoon and transfer to a large plate lined with paper towels to drain. Season with salt, to taste.
  4. Serve the chips with your favourite dips!
