Tomatillos are used all over Mexico to make salsa verde and many everyday dishes such as enchiladas verdes, chilaquiles and green stews. They have a fresh, slightly tangy flavour that brings sauces to life without adding heat.
These whole tomatillos are picked and packed in a light brine, ready to use straight from the tin. Blend them with onion, garlic, chilli and coriander for a traditional salsa verde, or cook them with chicken or pork for classic Mexican recipes. The 340g tin is a handy size when you only need a small batch of salsa or you're cooking for a few people.
Storage:
Keep in a cool dry place, away from sunlight. Once opened, place in an air tight container and keep refrigerated for up to one week.
