Spicy Marinated Panela Cheese
Ingredients:
- ½ kilo (about 1.1 pounds) of Panela cheese
- 6 cloves of garlic, chopped or crushed
- ½ cup of olive oil
- ¼ cup of dried oregano
- ¼ cup of finely chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of “El Yucateco” Hot Sauce
Preparation:
- Pierce the Panela cheese with a fork or a knife with a fine point in several places.
- Combine the garlic, olive oil, oregano, parsley, salt, and hot sauce in a bowl. Mix everything well.
- Bathe the Panela cheese with this mixture, ensuring it's evenly coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 2 hours, occasionally reapplying the marinade to the cheese.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (approximately 356°F). Place the marinated cheese in a casserole dish or a baking dish.
- Bake for 10 minutes. The cheese can be served over tostadas or with bolillo bread.
