Achiote is a delicious Yucatan-style sauce made from ground annatto seeds and spices.

Grown in the humid tropical weather of the Yucatan Peninsula in the southeast of Mexico, the achiote condiment is made with excellent quality annatto seeds.

Traditionally it is used as seasoning in the famous Yucatecan and Central American dishes, influenced by the Mayan culture.

How do I use achiote?

Achiote is really easy to prepare. You can dilute 1oz of paste with ½ a cup of vinegar or 50 ml of liquid annatto and it is ready to use! Make mouth-watering beef, pork, chicken, fish or vegetarian dishes.
