Tomatillos are native to (and largely grown in) Mexico, they are sometimes called husk tomatoes. They look like green, unripe tomatoes with a dry, leafy husk that wraps around the outside. They are the key ingredient when preparing green salsa or green stews. A stew of beef with tomatillos is a favourite!
