Recipe for Gran Luchito picadillo:
Ingredients: 4 plum tomatoes 3 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 medium onion, finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, crushed 500 grams lean beef minced 1 carrot, cut into 5 mm cubes 1 potato, cut into a 5 mm cubes 1 – 2 tablespoons of Gran Luchito Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- First make the tomato purée. Put the tomatoes in a blender or food processor and blend to a fairly smooth texture. Pass through a sieve, reserve. - Heat the oil in a heavy-based saucepan over a medium heat and gently sauté the onions until soft, add the garlic and sauté for a further minute. Add the minced meat and brown it over the high heat, stirring constantly. Mix in the chopped carrot, tomato purée and Gran Luchito. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover and gently simmer for 30 – 45 minutes until cooked through. - About 15 minutes before removing from the heat, stir in the chopped potatoes. Serve hot.
